| Kia Motors (UK) Ltd has announced
the appointment of PoundGates Vehicle Management Services Ltd as their
dedicated transit damage vehicle surveyors and claims agents with
effect from 1st April 2007.
In August 2005 Kia moved its import operations to Killingholme, on Humberside and this appointment marks a further stage in the company’s enhanced logistics arrangements. “We are delighted to have been appointed by Kia Motors UK to fulfil this important role. As a firm specialising in the provision of damage control and claims management solutions for finished vehicle logistics we are very happy that Kia have chosen PoundGates as their partner. The creative solution we have designed together will provide quality enhancements for Kia and their customers,” said Kevin Collins, PoundGates’ Managing Director. Commenting on the appointment Awais Ajmal, Kia’s Business Process Manager, highlighted the key drivers in the decision to make this appointment. “What we wanted from a partner providing these risk management services is a company who could provide a structured approach to helping us reduce in-transit damage and efficient processes for handling the damage when it does occur. PoundGates ticked all the right boxes in that respect and we are looking forward to having a long and fruitful association with them.” Kia has signed a 3 year contract with the UK based service provider which now handles some 40,000 claims and 650,000 vehicle inspections annually.
