On the 21st April, we held our second Risky Business Breakfast on crisis management and reputational risk.
Our speaker Liam Herbert, Managing Director of Chelgate Ltd spoke about his experience over the last 25 years, and dealing with crisis containment while Head of Corporate Communications at City of London Police, Midland Electricity, Imperial Tobacco PLC and consulting for EDF, Sainsburys and HS2.
The fundamental message given by Liam, was the importance of planning and preparation before these events occur, as well as controlling the narrative and communicating accurately when you are required to do so.
We were joined for breakfast by 90 key decision makers from businesses across Suffolk, the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive exceeding people’s expectations. Our next Risky Business Breakfast will take place on the 12th October on The Risks of Change. Our speaker Lucy Adams is the Former HR Director of the BBC, Eversheds and Serco Plc. She will be exploring the lessons learnt through her experience of managing change within the corporate environment.
