Our name, Pound Gates, comes from the business’s founders, Allan Pound and Ivan Gates. In 1988, Allan was an insurance broker at Lloyd’s of London and Ivan a freight forwarding agent in Felixstowe. Based on their long-standing friendship they decided to start a new business together, Pound Gates Group, based in Ipswich. They shared the vision of providing high-quality, relationship-driven service. Their expertise and partnership laid the foundation for the business we are today.
