At Pound Gates, we are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our community in Suffolk. Through our Acorn Fund, in partnership with Suffolk Community Foundation, we champion local causes and that promote active, healthy and balanced lifestyles for all. Since 2013, we’ve proudly awarded £55,000 in grants to 38 deserving initiatives.

Our funding priorities cover a broad spectrum of health and wellbeing initiatives. We especially support projects that help individuals of all ages and abilities, including those with disabilities or mental health / stress-related conditions, engage more fully in active and healthy lifestyles.
Our team are involved in every stage of our charitable efforts. From selecting which projects to fund through staff votes to participating in fundraising and visiting the projects we support; our staff’s engagement is key to our approach.
A comprehensive impact analysis conducted by Suffolk Community Foundation in 2021 highlighted the significant reach of our efforts: over 4,000 individuals have directly benefited from the initiatives supported by our Acorn Fund. The positive impact has only continued to grow since that time, touching even more lives and fostering greater health and wellbeing across our community.
