Container and Equipment Insurance

Whilst each policy is individually designed, key features may include:
- Physical loss or damage to equipment – Damage Protection Policy (DPP), on or off hire and depot risks. Including loss due to war risks, strikes, riots and terrorist risks Such cover can extend to a variety of physical risks or can be restricted to a total loss/ constructive total loss basis only
- General Average and Salvage
- Third Party Legal Liabilities - equipment may cause loss or damage to third party property, injury or death to third parties, or sudden and accidental pollution
- Cargo Liabilities – including liability for loss or damage to cargo, temporary storage, uncollected cargo, and forwarding costs
- Default Cover – including loss of (potential) rental revenue, recovery and repositioning costs, equipment repair costs, lost equipment, surveyor’s fees, and legal costs
- Errors and Omissions cover
- Fines for regulatory breach, such as customs, pollution and safety at work
- Investigation, defence and mitigation costs
- Disposal, quarantine and disinfection costs
- Equipment covered would include for example dry containers, flexibags, specialised containers such as refeers, tank containers, cryogenic units and helium tanks.
