£2,000 Grant for Ipswich Sports Club for the Disabled

Pound Gates recently awarded a grant of £2,000 to Ipswich Sports Club for the Disabled, raised through our Acorn Fund, a partnership between Pound Gates and Suffolk Community Foundation.

Ipswich Sports Club for the Disabled, run entirely by volunteers, provides facilities for sport and social activities for people with disabilities in Ipswich and the surrounding area. The group meets weekly and individuals are referred to the group by health professionals, social services and other groups locally.

The £2,000 grant will go towards to the cost of venue hire for the year, as well as paying for equipment storage.

Pat Hoy, Chairman of the Club said: “Without such grants we would no longer exist and that would be shame for the members who really need this type of organisation. We are non-competitive, so everyone can enjoy sport at a level that the level they feel comfortable. Thank you for helping us to have a few more months on top of the funds we have scraped together since lockdown.”
